As music director and chorus conductor of the Higher Word Orchestra, Manhattan's sixty-member Catholic ensemble, Christa helps shape concerts that pair masterworks with the stories of the composers who wrote them, performed in some of the city's most beautiful churches, including the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, St. Agnes, and St. Anthony of Padua.

With the Catholic artist collective Arthouse2B, she has served as music director, including the Eastertide Mass for Artists at St. Joseph's in Greenwich Village, which she directed with Buck McDaniel. She has also performed with the collective, playing the music of Hildegard von Bingen on the harp in the immersive Ruah: Breath of Life, staged at St. Joseph of Greenwich Village and Harlem's Church of the Annunciation.

Closer to home, she directs music week to week for parishes and schools across New Jersey, training choirs of every age — grade-school singers through adult cantors — on chant, polyphony, and the wider Catholic tradition. In December 2025 her Academy of Our Lady Sacred Music Choir, forty children in grades two through seven, sang as a prelude to the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.
